Highly Acclaimed Reproductions created from Ordinal 1785-1787 Bloch prints. Printed with archival ink on archival artists grade stonehenge cream-colored paper. These 8.5x11 inches prints are archrival and stand up to sun light and moisture.
We are pleased to present these beautiful reproductions created from rare original hand colored copper engravings from M.E. Bloch’s “Okonomische Allgemeine Naturgeschichte der Auslandischen Fische”, published in Berlin, 1785-1787. This collection of reproductions are historically significant and reflect Bloch’s famous beautiful fish considered by many to be the greatest of all the works on ichthyology.
They are printed 8.5 by 11 on superb thick Stonehenge artist printing paper in a creamy color. The size is perfect for framing when considering space and economic costs. The paper and ink is acid free, carefully selected for permanence, archival ability and quality to insure the image won’t fade from the effects of sunlight and moisture.
Reproductions are affordable and desirable especially when considering original old prints are rare, fragile and costly. Through our process of revitalization originals are digitally re-mastering so reproductions look better than the original prints. Sometimes the ageing process adds to the nature of the work, so in this case the color is adjusted to a correct balance and vibrancy. This makes our reproductions a good alternative to costly fragile originals. In addition, these prints inspire and enhance, setting the tone of sophistication for any room.
